TECHNICAL FEATURES
The Spectra T50 library's BlueScale environment is the library's core intelligence. BlueScale software is the results of a decade's work in data protection using tape libraries and disk. This intelligence provides the features that make up the Spectra T50 library, and its ability to support new technologies as they evolve. The BlueScale environment, which is also used in the enterprise-class Spectra T950 and Spectra T120 libraries, supports:
- Partitioning option-Shared Library Services (SLS)-without external hardware or software
- Capacity on Demand (CoD) option lets you add capacity, on demand, simply by logging onto the Spectra Logic Web site and requesting a key that you use to enable the new slots
